High Holiday Transliteration Booklet

A transliteration booklet for the entire High Holiday Maḥzor is now available online. You can print it for use during High Holiday services. To reduce bulk, each booklet page contains transliteration for multiple Maḥzor pages and should be printed two-sided. Please note that the Kehillah office is unable to print copies of this booklet.  Instructions for viewing and printing the booklet are below.  The booklet’s preface explains the history and future of this transliteration.

Versions

  1. Two Maḥzor pages per booklet page, with pages in portrait mode (8.5″ x 11″, oriented vertically).  This is designed to be printed two-sided, bound on the right side, like a Hebrew book, requiring just under 200 sheets of paper.  In this way, when one is using both the Maḥzor and the transliteration booklet, page turning is in the same direction for each.
  2. Three Maḥzor pages per booklet page, with pages in landscape mode (11″ x 8.5″, oriented horizontally). The text is set in 10.5 pt font. It is designed to be printed two-sided, bound on the right side, like a Hebrew book, requiring 132 sheets of paper.
  3. Four Maḥzor pages per booklet page, with pages in landscape mode (11″ x 8.5″, oriented horizontally). The text is set in 9 pt font. It is designed to be printed two-sided, bound on the right side, like a Hebrew book, requiring 99 sheets of paper.
