Education and Program Coordinator

Kehillah Synagogue

We are seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Education and Program Coordinator for our
vibrant synagogue community. Are you passionate about Jewish education? Are you interested
in planning community events and holiday celebrations? We are now accepting applications for
an Education and Program Coordinator to work closely with our Associate Rabbi to plan,
manage, sustain and grow our Religious School, and to collaborate with our staff and lay
leaders to execute community programs.


Kehillah Synagogue is a Reconstructionist community in Chapel Hill, NC serving approximately
195 families and 70 students. Our congregation is engaged and diverse, with a strong tradition
of social action. We are a warm, welcoming, and inclusive community.


The Education and Program Coordinator reports to Kehillah’s Associate Rabbi for the Religious
School components of this position, and to the Executive Director for the programming aspects.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for both Jewish education and building community.

Qualifications

  • Our ideal candidate has experience with administration, education, event planning, and
    social media/website development.
  • We are looking for someone who is well-organized, flexible, creative, collaborative and
    who enjoys working with children.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
    Compensation and Work Schedule
  • Salary negotiable, commensurate with experience
  • This is a part time position. We are looking for someone who can commit to 20-25
    hours/week.
  • This position requires work on most Sunday mornings during the school year, this is
    when our Religious School typically meets.
  • This position also staffs programs and events that may take place on weekends and
    holidays, including Shabbat.
  • The remaining hours consist of office work during Kehillah’s regular business hours.
  • The position is available now and the actual start date is negotiable.
